Position Overview

The Colleague Restaurant Attendant is an integral part of the Human Resources Department. The individual is responsible for providing and maintaining cleanliness of colleagues' restaurant area while ensuring the restaurant is ready to the highest standard for all meal periods.

 

The Role

  • Ensure the Colleague Restaurant and surrounding areas including walkways are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Demonstrates excellent product knowledge of chemicals which are used for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Ensure that the restaurant food is delivered on time and the buffet setup is ready for all meal periods.
  • Ensures all fixed assets are well looked after and maintained.
  • Report any loss or damage of furniture, fixture or equipment to the immediate supervisor.
  • Report any issues or damages to the relevant department to ensure defect-free facilities and service amenities within the resort.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
  • Immediately report and turn over lost and found articles to Security Office, following required procedures at all times.
  • Be fully aware of and maintain strict compliance to all the policies and procedure and standard operating procedure of the Human Resources Department, and also work place safety and security procedures set by the resort.
  • Attend scheduled colleague training and periodic reviews on departmental responsibilities in case of emergencies.
  • Attend section briefings, as required.
  • Maintain good relationships with colleagues and contribute to team spirit.
  • Interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.
  • Adhere to specified hygiene and personal appearance standards of the resort.
  • Adhere to set procedures for attendance and timekeeping.
  • Adhere to the provisions outlined in the Employee Handbook, Contract and Policies.
  • Reduce waste materials and supplies by adhering to the Company's guidelines on re-using and re-cycling.
  • Conserve water & energy by adhering to the environmental / energy conservation checklist for the area.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency with whatever task is required and work as a team.
  • Always put the needs of guest first (in HR, the guests are our colleagues). Actively listen to and consider the concerns of other colleagues, responding appropriately and effectively. Handle sensitive issues with colleagues and/or guests with tact, respect, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • Report any colleague disciplinary issue to higher management.
  • Assist the HR team in suggesting and coordinating welfare committee meetings, colleagues' activities, recognition programs and team building activities in efforts to promote strong employer branding and employee relations.
  • Foster positive working environment for all colleagues by performing periodical check-in with colleagues to ensure satisfaction, maintain strong working relationship with one another.
  • Report work-related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/ supervisor.
  • Handle and report any service 'glitches' and report it under the appropriate system, resolve the issue and ensure that corrective actions and service recovery follow ups are action upon in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in all colleague welfare activities.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities that are reasonable as assigned by your immediate supervisor or manager.

 

Talent Profile Qualifications:

  • General Certificate of Education.

 

Work Experience:   

  • Experience in a similar role at a luxury hotel/ resort is an advantage.

 

Skills Set:

  • Basic command in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team player and good at cultivating strong guest relations.
  • High degree of integrity.
  • Acute attention to details.
  • Positive "can do" attitude and flexible approach.
