Position Overview

The Income Auditor is responsible for the verification and reporting of the resort's revenue by monitoring and recording all income and postings through a detailed daily audit. The individual ensures the audit has accurate recording and classification of revenue and related transactions and enable detection of discrepancies in the process as per the latest USALI.

 

The Role

  • Collects / audits paperwork from all revenue centres in the resort ensuring accuracy and compliance with the corporate's Internal Controls and resort polices.
  • Ensures that accurate room revenue is captured, recorded and posted.
  • Ensures that accurate F&B outlet revenue, Banquet Food and Beverage Revenue and F&B Miscellaneous Revenue is fully captured, recorded and posted.
  • Monitors and records all house account meals and entertainment expenses and report any non-compliance to Director of Finance for follow up with the resort management.
  • Balance income against the respective ledger balances in the PMS system (guest ledger, city ledger and deposit ledger) and any discrepancies are corrected as identified and brought to the attention of Director of Finance.
  • Review the General Ledger accounts established to Record Room, Food & Beverage, Entertainment and General Sales and Value Added Taxes (VAT).
  • On a monthly basis, a summary of activity in these accounts is to be prepared and approved by the Director of Finance, with workings to include a comparison of taxable revenue on the monthly P&L statement to the liability balance at month end; discrepancies should be investigated and resolved appropriately.
  • Monitor the safeguarding of the resort's assets by reviewing resort credits issued by both Rooms Division and Food & Beverage and ascertaining the business purpose of such credits and proper manager approval.
  • Review daily void reports from the resort's F&B POS system to ensure proper inventory control in the F&B department.
  • Track the sale and redemption of resort gift cards to calculate the resort's liability.
  • Prepare daily revenue report (DRR) and distribute to leadership team.
  • Prepare and circulate daily Audit Pack ( Daily Revenue Summary Reports (Opera & POS) / Reconciliation, Complimentary Rooms Report, Daily Allowance /Adjustment /Rebate Summary, Promotional Charges plus House Use Summary, F&B Discounts, Voids Report, SPA Discount & Guest Complimentary Report, Open Check report, No-show Report, House Keeping Discrepancy Report, Room Rate Change Report, High Balance, Paid Outs ) and investigate unusual items with respective departments.
  • Build strong relations with all guests, noting special attention to the resort's VIPs and return guests to ensure long lasting guest loyalty.
  • Handle and report any complaints and resolve service 'glitches' and keep a record of all feedbacks under the appropriate system. Ensure that the issues are resolved in a timely manner to guests' satisfaction.
  • Report any issue or damages and breakdowns within working areas and the resort to ensure a defect-free facilities and service amenities provided.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues and serve as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities that are reasonable as assigned by your immediate supervisor or manager.

 

Talent Profile Qualifications:

  • Part qualification in a Bachelor's degree in Business Management preferably specializing in Finance or Accounting Management.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst certification is of advantage.

Work Experience:   

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experiences in similar role in a luxury hotel / resort.

 

Skills Set:

  • Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) with a sound knowledge in PMS and Finance systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team- player and good at cultivating strong guest relations.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent complex problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills & detail oriented.
