Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Manager manages the recruitment of best talents to Patina Maldives and will be responsible for the retention and succession planning to establish our resort as the most preferred employer in the Maldives. This position will focus on maintaining high performance multicultural talents by ensuring proper retention strategies and measures are established in place.

The Role

  • Provide inspirational leadership with a clear vision and direction to teammates to ensure delivery of the Patina brand values and vision, to create an amazing experience for all guests and teammates.
  • Be an exemplary role model in inspiring teammates through strong demonstration of the Patina Culture and Service Philosophy.
  • Comes up with effective initiatives to communicate open positions are advertised in appropriate venues to attract a diverse candidate pool. Ensures the open position listing is in a visible location for both internal and external candidates.
  • Manage and support all department heads in recruitment, inter-departmental transfers and promotions and transfers to other properties within this property brand, identifying talents and negotiating job offers in accordance with policies.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed during the selection and offer processes for all candidates (e.g., valid reasons for selection/non-selection are documented, applicants receive status notifications).
  • Ensure interviews are conducted according to recommended guidelines, consistent screening criteria is used, and only job-related questions are asked.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the post interview feedback from department heads.
  • Assists in effective communication and coordination with local authorities to establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources.
  • Network with local organization and peers to source candidates for current or future openings (e.g., HR Associations, Local Schools, University Professors).
  • Liaise with local and international recruitment agents in recruiting teammates and plan, coordinate and conduct local and international recruitment trips.
  • Ensure medical and background checks are completed in accordance with the resort policies.
  • Develop, together with Training Manager, an effective teammate induction programs, which will ensure a comfortable and easier transition in to department.
  • Ensure that manning levels are satisfactory to operational requirements and are in line with the approved levels, salaries and benefits set for each position.
  • Manage and facilitate the work permit quota system and application process.
  • Manage all contract, probationary evaluations and contract renewal process.
  • Educates teammates on benefits packages' available and eligibility requirements.
  • Ensures that department has the available resources on hand to administer teammate benefits.
  • Maintain a culture of high performance and development together with the management team.
  • Develop effective mentoring programs to develop talent and career development plans which includes intercompany transfers.
  • Utilize performance management systems efficiently to identify and reward internal promotions.
  • Assist management with the compilation of job descriptions and skills specifications and to ensure that they are updated and relevant on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify management and supervisory best practices for retaining high performing teammates.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Manager to establish sound HR practices.
  • Track and monitor market trends to ensure best practice at all times.
  • Attend to teammate requests and queries courteously and promptly.
  • Assist the Human Resource Manager in overseeing and managing the daily matters of the Human Resources department and ensure that all colleagues adhere strictly to all policies and standard operating procedures set by the resort and corporate office.
  • Attend and participate in all teammates' events and job-related trainings.
  • Knows and applies resort's Policies & Procedures, maintains personal safety at work and be fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
  • Lead by example by complying with the resort's grooming standard and ensure all teammates comply.
  • Ensures strict compliance with key policies (e.g., Sexual Harassment, Non-Harassment, Non-Discrimination, No Solicitation) by performing internal audits periodically.
  • Ensures all duties and activities are performed with honesty, discretion, professionalism and a pleasant demeanour and within the parameters of the Maldivian Law.
  • Assist in identifying key drivers of colleague satisfaction and supports managers in addressing issues with written plans and actions.
  • Monitor performances of teammates and provide feedback through teammate recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Take ownership of individual's growth and be involved in career progression and succession planning of teammates.
  • Coach and train teammates in all teammate-related human resource information to appropriately respond to property teammates.
  • Handle grievances and resolve teammates' disciplinary matters. Keep a record under the appropriate system and ensure that the matters are resolved in a timely manner and with ultimate professionalism.
  • Perform all duties with discretion, professionalism and a pleasant demeanour.
  • Coach managers on progressive disciplinary process.
  • Utilize an "open door" policy to address teammates problems or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensures effective teammate communication channels are established and active.
  • Analyse accident trends and reports these trends to the management team.
  • Report any issue or damages and breakdowns within working areas and the resort to ensure a defect-free facilities and service amenities provided.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities that are reasonable as assigned by the immediate supervisor or manager.

Talent Profile Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, preferably in Human Resource Management or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with at least two (2) years of experience in a similar position in luxury resort/hotel.
